Four Great Reasons To
TRAIN YOUR DOG
- Lower Stress Levels: You can lower stress levels in your home simply by teaching your dog a few obedience skills.
- Enhanced Relationship: No more yelling! Training teaches you how to effectively communicate with your dog.
- Good Citizenship: Dogs that bark incessantly or jump up give every dog a bad name. You can teach your dog how to behave in a variety of environments, from the vet's office to a dog-friendly restaurant.
- Fun: That's right - training is fun! Whether it's obedience or a sport, training is a truly enjoyable way to spend time with your dog.
PRIVATE IN-HOME: One Lesson $95;
Four Lessons $360The best place to teach your dog new skills is where you'll use them. For most folks, that's in the home. With our in-home private lessons, we train at the location that is most convenient for you. Lessons can focus on just one dog, or we can work with multiple dogs, depending on your needs.
In one private lesson, we can generally cover the basics of one behavioral issue and/or one to two obedience skills. In a set of four lessons, we can delve deeply into behavioral issues and cover the following obedience skills in-depth:
- Walk nicely on leash
- Sit/Stay
- Down/Stay
- Boundary/Stay
- Recall (Come or Here)

SEMI-PRIVATE IN-HOME: One Lesson $70; Four Lessons $240
Semi-private lessons are exactly the same as private lessons with one key difference: the number of humans involved. If you and a few friends are interested in training your dogs together, this is a fun and cost-efficient option. The number of participants involved in semi-private lessons should range from a minimum of two to a maximum of 4.

How can training lower stress levels in my home?
When a dog continues to repeat an undesirable behavior over and over again, it's not because he's trying to be annoying or stubborn. It's because he doesn't understand his owner's expectations. Often, this type of situation can turn into a vicious cycle of frustration for both dog and owner. The owner is upset because the bad behavior just won't seem to quit. Yelling, cajoling, pleading... These methods are often employed but rarely with the desired results. Your dog becomes confused because he can't seem to figure out how to please his owner. With a disconnect like this, of course everyone is stressed out!
The best way to remedy this stress is with obedience training. Obedience skills provide a clear and effective way to communicate with your dog. That bad behavior that just won't go away? Try replacing it with a behavior you do like. You'll be surprised at how quickly your relationship with your dog improves.

How will training affect my relationship with my dog?
Every time you teach your dog a new skill, you are teaching him how to communicate with you. And, as with any relationship, the better the quality of communication, the better the participants feel about each other. So, when it's done in a fun and positive way, training always has a positive affect on both dog and owner.

Can every dog be trained?
ABSOLUTELY! We've never met a dog that was untrainable. Like people, each dog has his own talents and interests and you'll be better served to work with these instincts than against them. However, any dog can, at a minimum, learn basic obedience skills.

How can obedience training be fun?
Training should always be fun, since it's about interacting in a positive way with your dog. While the training methods we use vary with each client, they are always weighted very heavily with positive reinforcement like treats (if you want to use them) and praise (this is a MUST).
